  • What makes having a Local Expert better than doing this myself?

    Dwellworks has helped more than three hundred thousand people relocate for work and we’ve become super good at it. Our friendly Local Experts already live in and love the destination you’re heading to and are additionally familiar with the adventures (and hassles) involved with moving for work. They can do more than just help you pick the perfect place to rent in the neighborhood that’s right for you – they can also give you the kind of street-level context and insider information that can only come from a local. Faster and maybe even better than you could it yourself.

  • Which Rent Scout program is right for me?

    We list out the features and benefits of each program so you can make the best decision for your personal needs.  As a rule of thumb, the more complex you think your move might be, the more help and research you may need – and so you may wish to choose an assistance program that offers a greater amount of time than another.  You can always adjust the amount the time you need. But don’t worry – you’re not in this alone.  Please contact us by phone, email or chat, and we’ll do our best to help you make the decision that’s right for you.

  • After I purchase a program, what are the next steps?

    You’ll receive an email and a Quick Start needs assessment survey from one of our highly-trained Program Managers, usually within one business day of your order.  Your Program Manager will work to understand your personal needs and will then pair you up with a Local Expert based on that information, usually the same day the intake conversation happens.

    Your Local Expert will begin to search for properties that meet your needs and then send you an invitation to our Destination portal, where you can view, select and comment on properties as your Local Expert helps you find your new rental.

  • I’m interested in Rent Scout because of the rental incentives – how will I know if I can get them?

    Our exclusive network of Select Properties (available in key metropolitan areas) includes pre-negotiated benefits such as waived application & administrative fees, reduced security deposits, acceptance of Employment Letters in lieu of a US credit history, and more.

    If Select Property options are available in your destination, you can count on your Local Expert to share the properties with you in our Destination portal; each property description will list the benefits available to our customers. If you choose to sign a lease with that property, your Local Expert will work with you to make sure you receive the benefits listed in the description. If you choose to sign a lease with a non-Select Property – one without savings and benefits listed in the description – we understand: do what’s best for you and we’ll still provide excellent service.

  • Am I limited to choosing just from Select Property options?

    Of course not! Your Local Expert will work to understand your needs and will provide you with the property options that will best suit your personal situation. Those options will include Select Property choices where available and suited for your personal needs and will also include properties from several other sources as well. With Rent Scout Pro, Plus and Premium programs, your Local Expert will also check into availability and pricing of properties you might find on your own, via sites like Zillow™, Craigslist™ and Trulia™, as well as provide area information where those properties are located. And, by the way, if YOU find a property you want us to investigate, pop it in the portal and your Local Expert will check out the specifics and get back to you.

  • I’m moving to another country – can you help?

    Yes, we can help! We can offer on-the-ground assistance with helping you find a place to rent and with handling your settling-in tasks in the following countries outside the US: Canada, China, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, and Mexico.

    For other locations, we can offer you two different types of valuable help. Our Culture Cloud intercultural training programs are designed to help you understand how your personal style will fit in with the culture of your destination country. Our International Destination Guide product covers more than 100 countries and is a self-serve knowledge base of the things you need know and do before, when, and after you arrive.
