Essentially, Dwellworks services are centered around simplifying and streamlining the process of moving to a new destination, finding a place to live, and settling in by assisting with necessary tasks from setting up utilities to getting a new driver’s license. We assist relocating employees moving across the country and around the world. We support new college graduates, middle management, and executives. Every relocating employee’s needs are unique, so our services allow for customization in the amount of support, available time and selected tasks to meet those preferences. Our service options range from ‘digital only’ options, that provide extensive content and guidelines for a self-managed move, to ‘digital and extended service support’ that provides detailed content, plus the personalized support of an experienced local expert to help with needs like finding well-matched rental housing, offering guidance on school visits, previewing neighborhoods, suggesting resources based on an employee’s stated interests and preferences, and providing advice only a local can give on how to successfully access local services and support.
We offer a choice at Dwellworks Direct because every employee has different needs and a different budget. If you’ve moved before, or you know the city you’re moving to pretty well, or you just need some really well organized and updated content to answer your questions and get you going, then Digital Destination may be all you need. Most people moving for work are very busy and could use some help getting organized and putting a plan together, which is why Digital Destination Plus, content + a conversation with a Consultant, is our most used service. If your needs are more complex, the destination is unfamiliar to you, or you just want more guidance on the process, local requirements, and what to expect in your new city, then Digital Destination plus Service Support or Extended Service Support are good options. A local expert can help with your specific needs, as we have done for thousands of other employees on the move.
Dwellworks Direct services are simple by design. Make your choice, pay your fee, and the service activates. If you’ve chosen Digital Destination only – you’ll get access to our very comprehensive content in myDwellworks, our destination platform, and you’ll find all the information you need to manage a successful move to your new destination. For services where you select both Digital Destination and a conversation and/or services from a local Consultant, you’ll get an update upon selecting your service and should be connected to a Consultant within the next working day, to start organizing your time together and support for the questions you have and services you need. In all instances, you’ll have ongoing access to myDwellworks for 12 months.
A half day allows up to 4 hours of virtual support from a local consultant. You and your consultant will decide best to use the time available to address your personal needs. At minimum, you will have a lifeline in the market to help you make smart decisions around the home search and key settling-in tasks. Note: the time that your consultant spends working on your service is included in the 4 hours purchased – whether the consultant is communicating or working on your needs in the background for tasks such as customized property research. Hours do not need to be used consecutively and can be spread over the course of a few days. Your consultant will keep track of these hours. If your needs are complex, you may need to purchase additional time.
A full day allows up to 8 hours of in-person and/or virtual support from our local expert. You and your consultant will decide how best to use your time, what support matters most to you, and whether you’d like to meet in person or receive virtual guidance. Note: The time that your consultant spends working on your service is included in the 8 hours purchased –
whether the consultant is physically with you, communicating with you virtually, or working on your needs in the background for tasks such as customized property or school research. Hours do not need to be used consecutively and can be spread over the course of a few days. Your consultant will keep track of these hours. If your needs are complex, you may need to purchase additional time.
You and your consultant will decide what is most important for you to receive guidance on. The Extended Service offers “Core/Flex” support. Here is a breakdown of what the ‘Core’ portion of the service includes:
Core Service: (Average: 1 - 2 hours)
- Personalised call/video consultation with your Local Expert
- Overview of the valuable resources/guides contained in our information portal, MyDwellworks
- Neighbourhood recommendations matching your budget/commute preference
- Overview of the Education System (upon request)
- Instruction around completing local settling in tasks: obtaining a driving licence, local registration, banking, utilities
Flex Option:
You and your consultant will decide how to get the best value from the remaining ‘Flex’ time you have together. Note: The time required for task completion can vary widely by country and city. Your local expert will advise on the time required to complete a chosen service element(s), what can feasibly be accomplished, within the remaining hours available, following the completion of the core services.
You can utilize all available time on one option or select a few that are most critical to you. Below is an illustrative example of some of the service items you might want to consider, including typical time frames that could help maximise your service time:
- Area Orientation (2 hours) – get to know the area on a tour delivered by your local expert
- Collaborative rental research (2-4 hours) – advice around how to complete a successful property search, including a sampling of properties available in your preferred location matching your criteria. Could include setting up several viewing appointments. NOTE: Home search norms/protocols vary by country.**
- Accompanied property visits (4 hours minimum) - Your consultant can accompany you to tour a sampling of your favorite properties
- School search (4 hours) – Virtual customized guidance to source local schools/explain application processes
- Local lease review (1-2 hours) – Your consultant can explain regulations/standard processes and review your lease prior to signing
- Accompanied guidance for a Settling In Task (2-4 hours): This could include Local registration, driving licence, or banking.
** Rental Search in Germany – applying for viewings can be extremely time consuming due to low vacancy and a very competitive market; 8 hours of research may only result in one listing matching your criteria; we will work to help you navigate this challenging housing market.
Rental Search in the Netherlands – this is a tenant-paid broker market, which means you may need to engage with a licensed broker to access rental listings, costing 1 month’s rent paid to a licensed agent outside of Dwellworks; for this market, we recommend utilizing your consultant for settling-in or area orientation
